Traditional games

The students rediscovered traditional games, such as jumping rope, the game of “Campanon” and the construction of toys with recycled materials.

 

Rediscovering the beauty of books and interaction with a writer

The fourth and fifth grades of the Gastaldo school had an online meeting with the famous writer Guido Sgardoli, after reading some of his books.

 

Cinema Day November 8th, 2020

On International Film Day, many classes watched a film and then carried out some activities and discussed the themes of the film. Some classes watched the film "Freccia Azzurra", to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Gianni Rodari, Italian writer and journalist, famous above all for his works of literature for children.


Virtual tour

 

The fourth and fifth grade children took a virtual tour visiting the main monuments they saw during the school trip to Venice last February during the LTT hosted by Italy and then built a crossword puzzle that was distributed to all the classes of the school.

 

 

 In a Writer’s Shoes...”.

 

Many classes have produced stories, others have rewritten a fairy tale setting it in the present day at the time of Covid and some have even taken part in the “Class Writers” competition.

 

 Solar System Story

 

 The fifth-grade children acted like real entrepreneurs to represent a story about the solar system using the Scratch program: they were divided into pairs and each couple had the task of representing a sequence of the story. They started from an idea and worked as a team to find strategies to overcome the difficulties to make it happen. It was a task that required creativity and problem-solving skills. (17 students and 1 teacher)
