Lesson in the school library.

September 14, 2921 there was a library lesson for our preschoolers. The children got acquainted with the appearance of the school library, equipment and rules of borrowing books. They learned the code of cultural behavior in the library. Mrs. Ewa introduced the children to the world of books by reading them the short story "Animal Train" by the Italian author S. Bordiglioni. The story caught the attention of children who listened attentively and eagerly told the content. They willingly borrowed books and watched them with curiosity, sharing their first impressions with each other.

Today at the Primary School Stefan Żeromski in Strawczyn, we solemnly celebrated "Fitting for a 1st grade reader".

Children from grades Ia and Ib came to the school library. The librarian greeted them with a poem, then told them about the books in the library. He also showed the library cards that each of the children had received to be able to borrow books. The story about "Kitty in the library" was also read. Children eagerly listened to the story of Kitty Koci and told about what happened to her in the library. At the end, the children solemnly vowed repeating the text of the promise to the reader after the librarian. The application for the reader was completed with the ceremonial presentation of diplomas for each child and a joint photo commemorating this event.

International Dot Day at SP Strawczyn.

As every year, in our school, we celebrated September 15, the day on which the International Dot Day is celebrated. These are events full of creativity, looking for new opportunities and gaining faith in your own abilities. The day was based on the story of Vashti, a girl who does not believe in her own abilities, but thanks to the dot she painted during the art class, she begins to believe in herself. On this occasion, we have been celebrating this holiday in our school for several years. The school library together with the kindergarten department also joined the celebration of this event. A reading of Vashti's stories took place in the school yard, and then the kids from the preschool ward drew their own dots with colored chalk. In addition, in the school library, children who visited the library that day had the opportunity to connect the dots from which they created colorful drawings. The event was full of smile and joy. Next year we will celebrate them again !!!

National Reading of "The Morality of Pani Dulska" by G. Zapolska at the Primary School Stefan Żeromski in Strawczyn.

As every year, our school joined the nationwide campaign of National Reading. This time it was a text by G. Zapolska entitled "The morality of Mrs. Dulska". The books prepared by the library supervisor were handed over to Polish teachers who, in grades IV-VIII, conducted a reading campaign in Polish lessons, divided into roles of selected reading fragments. The students became very interested in the drama, asked many questions about it, and were curious about the further course of events. An additional attraction turned out to be listening to G. Zapolska's song read aloud by radio lectors. Children then had the opportunity to compare their voice interpretation of the text with that performed by qualified and experienced people. It was a very interesting experience for them. It is worth providing students with an opportunity to read as often as possible and encouraging them to read literature so that they do not treat it only in terms of an unpleasant school obligation. When they see that adults are eager to read, they will also start reading it….

The beginning of the school year at the Primary School Stefan Żeromski in Strawczyn.

On September 1, we solemnly inaugurated the new school year. Due to the prevailing pandemic, students came to school in three rounds. Headmistress Elżbieta Błaszczyk warmly welcomed everyone, from preschoolers to eighth graders. She wished many successes in the new year and emphasized the importance of commitment in science. New students who are just starting their adventure with learning at our school were greeted with warm applause. The participants sang the national anthem and celebrated with a minute of silence the anniversary of the outbreak of World War II and the activists of "Solidarity" on the anniversary of the signing of the "August Agreements". We have returned to full-time education, but the safety procedures and sanitary regime are still in place throughout the facility. Despite many fears, both students and teachers started the new school year with enthusiasm and full of hope.
