Mult'culture - Promote Education for Cultural Heritage
World Peace Day
On the 1st of January we celebrated the World Day of Peace and we cannot fail to mention this important date for all of us. The theme chosen for the 2018 World Day of Peace is "Migrants and refugees: Men and women in search of peace".
Kings' Day
This old Portuguese tradition is celebrated all over the country, bringing families, friends and neighbors out on the street to "sing the kings" or "Janeiras" from door to door.
Composer Day
This day honors the composers that exist around the world. They contribute with their art to promote emotions, eternalize life's moments and sensations. It is a food for the soul. The composer is the professional who writes the music. On this day, our students and their families in partnership with the Municipal Library and the students of the Torre school celebrated the day of the Composer.
Santo Amaro´s Day
The people of Madeira celebrate Santo Amaro Day on January 15th. "Day to clean the cabinets". It is a popular tradition that dictates the end of festivities in Madeira. Families cut down trees and all Christmas decorations. Share and taste the last sweets. Our school remembered this cultural tradition.
Visit to the Madeira Press Museum
On the 22nd of January the second year classes together with the professors, the teachers of the Agir Project and the teacher of the Pedagogical Support Added went to visit the Madeira Press Museum. They learned the history of the Press in the Region and had contact with the machines that produced the main newspapers in the islands of the Archipelago.

February 2019
Official Project Hymn
In February, the first rehearsals of the Project's Official Hymn began. This work was carried out with 4ºB students and with the collaboration of Musical and Dramatic Expression teacher as well teacher of English.
Workshop: Traditional Dance of the Region
Two elements of a world famous dance group: Folklore and the Boa Nova Ethnographic Group, were invited to teach some dance steps to 2nd year students and their school teachers.
World Social Justice Day - February 20
One of the most important themes of our project are the values. These values we want to transmit to our students so that, in the future, they will be active and well-formed citizens. That is why we could not miss World Social Justice Day. The same was celebrated with a workshop for parents and family.
Visit to the Municipal Library

The 3rd year students visited the Municipal Library of Câmara de lobos, under the Erasmus + project, to hear the story "Firmino and the theft of Berlin balls" told by author Nuno Barros. They were very attentive and loved the story, especially when they tried to guess who the thief was. There were a lot of theories coming, unfortunately nobody got it but it was a lot of fun! In the end, they did a crossword puzzle about the story with the help of the teachers.
Carnival Traditions
How did carnival come about? What is the tradition in our country? How do partner countries celebrate carnival? Today the students of Projeto Agir in partnership with the class of recurrent education worked together to discover the answers to these questions. To finish the activities, the students decorated carnival masks referring to the 5 participating countries, in this Erasmus + project.
International mother tongue day
On February 21, the international day of the mother tongue was celebrated. 3rd year students celebrated it using Portuguese culture and traditions.
March 2019
Carnival Parade
One of the most important festivals of Portuguese Culture was celebrated, the Carnival. About 1200 masked people, from all primary schools, kindergartens, kindergartens and day care centers for the elderly in our city, filled the city with joy and color, in an allegorical parade where there was no shortage of music, popcorn, ice cream and traditional carnival dreams (traditional sweet)!
Erasmus Project works Exhibition
During the month of March the Erasmus Project works carried out to date will be exposed. This exhibition is a tribute and thanks to all those who have contributed to making this project a reality.
Madeira Military Museum
Senior students, on March 18th, visited the Madeira Military Museum to learn more about the history of the island of Madeira!
Traditional Madeira Dolls
The Portuguese students had a workshop “Bonecas de pasta da Madeira” with the plastic artist Ricardo Lapa and with the precious collaboration of the teacher Carla Marques.

Easter Egg Hunt
Portuguese students "Class A of Recurrent Education" went to the "AGIR class" room to explain to children how Easter was lived in ancient times. Some games and games were explained. Then we relive one of the Portuguese traditions: " Easter egg hunt".
Easter Traditions
Easter traditions in Erasmus + countries. Research work prepared by students from the 3rd A and 3rd B.
Portuguese students celebrated the last day of classes in the 2nd period with various activities related to Easter. They played "Balamento Game", na old Madeiran tradition, painted eggs, built egg wreaths, made face paintings and "rabbit ears", played "egg hunt", read stories about Easter and had a picnic!
Fostering and Developing Values
Fostering and developing valuesIn today's society, it is necessary to have a teaching methodology that is preventive, in the education of ethical and moral values, in the conscious formation of the individual that reflects ethically and morally in the face of conflicting situations, which require a range of principles and values that guide their decisions.
With this project, we intend to train European citizens with ethical and moral values, conscious, active and entrepreneurial.
Workshop on Children´s Literature
Portuguese students had a workshop with Leda Pestana, on children's literature.
INTERNATIONAL EARTH DAY
International Earth Day was created in the USA on April 22, 1970, but was not recognized by the UN until 2009.
A worrying reminder that can be summed up in one sentence: "If we don't act now, extinction could be humanity's most enduring legacy."
World Book and Copyright Day
The Municipal Library of Câmara de Lobos receives students from our school and from neighboring schools to celebrate the Book and Author Day.
Freedom Day - April 25
To celebrate the national holiday, Portuguese students carried out some activities:
- talked about that day, explanation of its meaning and why it is a holiday;
- construction of a harpsichord out of a mold, painting it and recording the end of a sentence “Liberty is…”;
- decoration of the class scoreboard with the carnations.
English Letters
The students of 4 ° B, on April 4, wrote letters in English to their colleagues in Greece. In them, they refer to their experience in this project, refer to their cultural preferences, explain what skills they have developed and what plans they have for the future. The letters will be sent soon.
Living Library
"The library is not just books. It is culture too." Thus the motto for this activity was born, which perfectly combined literature (local history) with music (Jazz). In this activity, portuguese from our school students and teachers from neighboring schools and some guardians participated.

International Workers' Day
It is an international commemorative date, dedicated to workers, celebrated annually on the 1st of May, in almost all countries of the world, being a holiday in many of them.
Here are the works of the 4th year classes of Portuguese students on this topic.
Mother's Day
The students of 4 ° B prepared a gift, The wallet for Mother, and made a postcard where they gave wings to their creativity, writing a recipe for their moms! Happy day!
Bordallo Pinheiro Workshop
Raphael Augusto Bordallo Pinheiro was a Portuguese artist, with a vast work spread over dozens of books and publications, precursor of the artistic poster in Portugal, designer, watercolorist, illustrator, decorator, political and social caricaturist, journalist, ceramist and teacher.
Having accepted the invitation to head the artistic sector of the Faience Factory of Caldas da Rainha (1884), there he renewed the Caldense ceramics.
Bordallo Pinheiro dedicated himself to the production of ceramic pieces that, in his hands, quickly acquired an original stamp: jars, vases, jars, jars, dishes and other pieces, becoming a reference in our culture and heritage.
The 4th year portuguese students were inspired by the creations of this artist and learned to model pieces / objects similar to the original ones.
It was a very fun, inspiring and enriching activity.
We appreciate the presence and guidance in this activity to the Plastic Artist, Ricardo Lapa and, to our Teacher of Plastic Expression, Carla Marques.
Let's travel?
That is the name of the book recently released by the writer Anabela Machado. The students of 4 ° B watched with enthusiasm a "cultural trip" across 5 continents.
Entrepreneurship Activity
The President of the Madeira Young Entrepreneurs Association made a woorkshop for Portuguese students on Entrepreneurship.
Family Day Celebration
In the context of Family Day, Portuguese students of the 3rd year, invited the parents or relatives of their students to participate in some activities.
International Museum Day
To celebrate International Museum Day and Museum Night, the group of Portuguese students from 3ºB carried out some activities in order to instill in students the importance of these institutions for the culture of societies.
Europe Month
This was a month of hard work dedicated to Europe and the European Union. Here are some records of them.

Mult'culture first!
The Portuguese students of the 4th year, took a cultural trip through the city of Lisbon, where they were able to visit some of the most important monuments of our country.
Festival Cultural Anual
A cultural festival was held at the school. In this festival, some cultural and gastronomic traditions of the countries that are part of this Erasmus Program were introduced. Parents, parents and guardians were invited and participated in this event.
