November 8, 2019 at the Primary School Stefan Żeromski in Strawczyn celebrated the 101st anniversary of Poland regaining independence and the 101st anniversary of the end of World War I. The whole ceremony was prepared by students of classes IV, I, VI and VII and their tutors. The academy began at 11.11 singing the national anthem. Then, Mrs. Błaszczyk in the introduction introduced how important and difficult our nation's struggle for independence was. The students presented a short history of Poles struggling for independence with the music of our greatest composers Fryderyk Chopin and Michał Ogiński. There were beautiful songs prepared by the school choir conducted by Mrs. Agata Bazalińska, as well as dance performances by class VI students under the care of Mrs. Marta Smolarczyk. The students of the 1st grade of the Primary School prepared our national polonaise dance under the guidance of their teachers. The punch line of the whole ceremony was the words of the invited guest poet and writer Mr. Czesław Nowakowski that such celebrations remind us how many people we must thank for our freedom and how much depends on ourselves, that the world would be better and there would never be more war.
