About our great patron, writer Stefan Żeromski in SP Strawczyn.

At the Primary School in Strawczyn, we celebrated the 94th anniversary of the death of our great patron, Stefan Żeromski. He was born on October 14, 1864 in Strawczyn and was a well-known and respected writer, called by many the conscience of the Polish nation. His fame in Poland, but also in the world, brought him such works as "Sisyphean works", "Homeless people", "Ashes", "History of Sin", "Faithful River" and "Early Spring". He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in literature four times, unfortunately unsuccessfully. In his works he often returned to his hometown describing the beauty of the Świętokrzyskie region. Stefan Żeromski died on November 20, 1925 in Warsaw. It was on the occasion of the anniversary of our death that we celebrated our "Great Patron" festival in our school. The whole ceremony began with singing the national anthem. Then, students of class VIIb presented the life story and work of Stefan Żeromski, and the school choir made sure the musical setting of the ceremony was performed by singing beautiful songs about the Świętokrzyskie region. At the end, students of class VIa danced one of the Polish national dances: krakowiak and the student of class Vb Maja Naszydłowska played the violin "Quail Girl". It was an interesting lesson for our Polish history and culture, and for those present it was an opportunity to show their outstanding reciting, dance and music talents.
