International Tolerance Day is a festival celebrated annually on November 16.
The UNESCO General Conference in 1995 adopted the Declaration of Principles of Tolerance. The holiday itself was established by the UN General Assembly in 1995 on the initiative of UNESCO. As the Declaration of the Principles of Tolerance says: "Tolerance is respect, acceptance and recognition of the richness of the diversity of world cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human. It is favored by knowledge, openness, communication and freedom of speech, conscience and faith. Tolerance is harmony in diversity. This is not only a moral obligation, but also a legal and political condition. Tolerance - a value that makes peace possible - contributes to replacing the culture of war with a culture of peace. " As part of that day, at the Stefan Żeromski Primary School in Strawczyn, students had numerous lectures on educational lessons, watched films related to this topic, and did artistic works and more. In the second classes, incl. during computer classes, they watched the movie: "Maciek's Birthday, or a short story about tolerance," prepared jointly by the Security Department of the City of Warsaw and the Warsaw Police Department, and then, using a graphic program, made a poster about the International Tolerance Day. Here is a short photo report:
