This blog represents views experience of Erasmus + school partners. The Constitution of May 3 - the first constitution in Europe.
On Monday at Primary School Stefan Żeromski, we celebrated the 228th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of May 3. It was a good opportunity to recall the most important information about the first European constitution and the second after the US constitution in the world. Established on May 3, 1791 by the Great Seym (Four Years), it was to introduce the most important ideals of the Enlightenment and reform the ossified Polish state. It was the work of enlightened Poles, among them: Ignacy Potocki, Hugo Kołłątaj and King Stanisław August Poniatowski. It enriched not only Polish but also European and world culture. Our pupils recalled the circumstances of this great event by playing a short theatrical scene of the moment of enacting the constitution. There were also songs, poems and the Polish national dance Krakowiak made boldly by class IV students. Here is a short photo report from this event:
