ROMANIA – “Pia Bratianu” School -Bucharest Activities February-October 2020

 

Month: February

Activity: “On the steps of Jamie Oliver” -activity with a chef

     

 

There are many typical traditional Romanian dishes and the one chosen for the activity is “Sarmale” (minced meat wrapped in cabbage leaves). This activity was organized with the older students (aged 10-11) because of the complexity of the stages in preparing this dish. 50 students, 2 teachers, 1 chef participated. Teachers, students, a chef and parents (80 persons) took part in this activity.

 

March:

Celebrating Mother’s Day….

Personal development activity with “Pantalone “ theatre troupe” : Sripititipi – the elf and the power of questions.

 

April:

·         Personal development online activity : “Let me tell you how you are…”

Lots of fun and laughter!

 

·         Meeting with the author of "The Medals of Success" - professor Georgeta Panisoara (University of Bucharest) This was a personality development project inspired by a renowned psychology teacher and implemented by our teachers as class activities.

 

 

·         Music therapy workshop with an expert in the field: Jean-Baptiste Manitou

 

·         Earth Day 🌍

·         June:

 

Integrated activity: literature & painting 🎨

The children studied a famous poem written by a well-known Romanian poet Tudor Arghezi. It is a poem for children, about a little, ugly dog with a very funny name "Zdreantă". After reading the poem, the children had to imagine and paint the dog. 🐕

 

·         Cooking on-line! 😋

Staying at home 🏡👨‍👩‍👦and studying can be fun... 😃

Romanian breakfast 🍳

October 2020

 

·         International Day of Bullying Prevention

Special guest: Mrs Anca Dumitrescu – psychologist

 

  

 

Over 250 students, 10 teachers, parents and special guests took part in them. The teachers organized various workshops with students (drawing, presentations, debates) both online and offline (at school). Psychologists were also invited to talk to students about bullying and guide them on how to deal with it. (zoom meetings)

·      Celebration of poetry:

150 students and their parents took part in the activity (for the online activities). The objective of this activity was not only to involve the students in reading and studying poetry but mostly in the creation of poems. Many students created their own poems and then presented them in front of their classmates and teachers (PPTs, drawings, photos). It was a rewarding activity with long term effects on students.


*  World Animal Day October 4th, 

 Over 300 primary school students, 15 teachers and special guests (veterinarians) participated in the classes, which were attractive for students. Children simply loved this activity and for a few days our school organized many workshops on this topic: PPT, drawings, handicraft - making masks, songs, role-playing games "School in the forest".
