In September, as part of International Democracy Day, class IV of the Primary School Stefan Żeromski in Strawczyn hosted a special guest Mr. Damian Gad. He represented the legislative power recently elected in democratic local elections. Mr. Damian told students about democracy, what elections to the local government look like, who is a councilor or a commune council. He also told about the duties that lie with him as a guardian of the Youth Council in Strawczyn. Students asked many questions to Mr. Damian and took part in the fun prepared by him with great commitment. I must admit that this visit helped them a little bit closer to what democracy is and why it is worth participating in elections, e.g. to local government. At the end, the students thanked Mr. Damian for such an interesting lesson.
